Welcome back, St. Thomas Family:

School begins in a bit over a week, and we are working to get our classrooms ready.

One announcement that must be made: We bid a fond farewell to Mrs. Taylor, who had to make a last minute decision to leave us. We are sorry to see her go, but please welcome Mrs. Hargis as our 2nd grade teacher! Mrs. Hargis served as one of our substitute teachers last year, so many of you will recognize her. She is excited to be joining us in her new position.

We are working on setting up the space in the Bosco House as our laboratory/maker-space/art room for this year. We will still have to share it with the parish and other ministries at times, but it will give our students some room to spread out a bit when working on longer projects. We thank Father Frank for his help.

The school had the opportunity to benefit from a second collection at Mass on Aug. 5th. We gained about $4000.00 from that day. We thank all of you who continue to support us. We bless you!

Our first School Mass is on Sept. 5th this year. Please be sure your student is in correct liturgy attire. Last year we made the liturgy attire optional so we could all get used to it. This year, it is required, and our uniform company has the new items in stock. I look forward to seeing our children dressed up for the special event that is the Mass.

School begins for real on Tuesday, Aug.21st. It is a half-day. Dismissal at 12:00. Please plan this year to have your children in their classrooms no later than 8:00 A.M. everyday. The school day opens with a meaningful activity that does affect your child’s learning. It is not “wasted time” until assembly begins. Please take advantage of all you are paying for and bring your children to school on time. We will open the gates at 7:50 as always.

We are looking forward to a wonderful school year.

Blessings,

Dr. Dian Pizurie, Principal
