Dear St. Thomas Family:
Our first full week has gone by quickly, and we all are feeling comfortable in our classrooms. The few TK students that wanted “Mommy or Daddy” this first week seem to have discovered that this is not such a bad place after all. TK is busy learning and having fun. I think the rest of us are feeling good, too!
Back-to-School Night was well attended. Thank you, Parents, for your continued support of your children and their school. We are blessed to have you. Many of you got to see our new desks donated by the kind folks at LePort Montessori School in Irvine. Thanks to them and to Sal Rodriguez who organized the trip to pick them up and bring them to their new home with us! We still have a few of our old desks (still in good shape) to sell for $20.00. Come see them in our patio area when you drop off and pick up.
Our Science program has benefitted from the donation of SIX new microscopes! We can’t wait to get the students on them and watch as they discover the wonders of our world. Thanks to our donors, Mrs. Sanchez, Mr. Reid, and Mr. and Mrs. Hernandez. Bless you!
With September comes the beginning of our sports programs. We will field two girls’ Volleyball teams this year, Team A and Team B. Flag Football starts the season with 13 players on the A Team. Good luck, Warriors! By the way, just a reminder: When you go to one of our ICSL League games, there is a fee at the gate for spectators--$2.00 for Adults, and $1.00 for children. This fee is to help the host schools defray the cost of maintaining their fields and courts. Also, remember, wherever we go to participate in a school sport or other event, we represent St. Thomas the Apostle School and the Catholic Church. Sportsmanship and respectful behavior is expected from our coaches, athletes, and all spectators. We really have not had much of an issue with parents or students at games, but the Diocese wants us all to remember who we are! St. Thomas Warriors!
Bless you all,
Dr. Dian Pizurie
