Dear St. Thomas Family:
We have had so much fun last week and this week! Catholic Schools Week brought us daily activities such as Grandparents Day, Mass, and wearing various outfits to show our spirit. This week we had the pleasure of Howdy Hannah and her gang visiting with us every day until our Fun Run on Thursday. You did a great job getting pledges for your students! It was bit confusing because the contract we signed back in August called for $160.00 per family as the requirement for this fundraiser, but we then asked for additional donations (from family and friends) to be pledged on-line to ensure your student received a prize. Next year we will probably find a way of combining those donations with the required amount. Everything I have heard about the actual event was very positive and we are strongly considering having the Boosterthon company back next year.
Attached please find the Love Lines order form. These must be returned no later than Friday, Feb. 14th. Also, Read-a-Thon has begun! Please help your student keep track of reading time!
Valentine’s Day is Friday. Classes will have parties in the afternoon arranged by the Room Ambassadors. If asked, please help provide goodies or help as you are able. Please: No extra goodies unless approved by the Teacher and/or the Class Room ambassador!
The applications for The Bishop’s Endowment Scholarships were dropped off this morning at the Diocese. God bless all who applied!
The Bishop’s Scholarship for the High Schools forms and portfolios are due this Friday, Feb. 14th, 2020. I know it says Monday, Feb. 17th, 2020, but we have next week off. So please turn in all the portfolios on Friday. After I receive them, I have a considerable amount of work to do before they are submitted to the high school (mostly Notre Dame for us). All of my letters of recommendation will be inserted after I receive the portfolio. Portfolios are NOT returned, so please do not put original pictures or documents in the portfolio!
The Haynes Family wishes to thank all of you who have been so supportive during their recent struggle. The meals, prayers, visits, good wishes, and helpfulness have all been appreciated very much. The St. Thomas Family really came together in support of one of our own.
The Diocesan Spelling Bee is this Tuesday at OLPH. Best wishes to Isidro Jiz as he competes for the third time in a row representing St. Thomas School!
