Dear St. Thomas Family,

I hope your summer has gone well with plenty of time for family fun, rest, and rejuvenation. Since school begins in less than a month, I know it is time for an update on what has been happening here.

If you have driven by or been to church in the last week or so, you can see how much progress has been made on our fence. We don't have all the details concerning how it will change our drop-off and pick-up, our extended care, and our daily routines, but as soon as all the electronics and video equipment are installed and tested, we will share information with you. At least we know our children and school staff will be safer during the day the fence is installed.

Need Service Hours for the coming year? On August 6th and 7th we could use several volunteers to help staple books of tickets together for our Family Fun Day Raffle. We will meet in the Hall from 9:00am until 1:00pm on those days (Tuesday and Wednesday), and we might need some help on Thursday (Aug. 8th) as well. If you are interested, please call Martha in the front office form 8:00am until 1:00pm Monday through Thursday to let her know you can help. If you bring your own stapler, so much better!

We have a play date on August 6th at Luv 2 Play! See attached flyer for details.

School begins at 8:00am on Monday, August 19. Dismissal that day and on Tuesday is at 12:00pm. Whether you are new to us or part of an experienced St. Thomas family, plan to stop by the Hall for our Welcome Back Meet and Greet. Light refreshments will be available, and information tables will be hosted by members of the school who can answer questions, help you sign up for service hours, or just be a friendly face to welcome you for another exciting St. Thomas the Apostle School year. We hope to have a good selection of gently-used uniforms for sale to help outfit your young Warriors for the school year. Prices will be very reasonable. (We can probably use a few helpers, so call the front office if you would like to be a smiling face and welcome our people!)

We are still waiting for our Internet/ Phone upgrades and our Technology Grant items to materialize. Oh, well, it will be a sweet surprise for us all when these improvements arrive!

Please have a safe rest-of-summer! We have missed having the children around with their laughter and energy, and we are looking forward to a fantastic school year with many academic adventures and surprises ahead. Don't forget that TK and Kindergarten Students are invited to drop off their supplies on Friday, Aug. 16 form 9:00am until 12:00pm

See you all soon!

Blessings,

Dr. Dian Pizurie, Principal
