Dear St. Thomas Family:
We have less than 2 weeks until Easter Week and our Easter break begins. This school year seems to be flying by.
By now I hope you have all heard about the service project we are engaged in with the Parish: Get On The Bus. Get On The Bus is a Ministry that allows children to visit their parents who are in prison. We are joining the Ministry to sponsor two buses, May 18 and May 25, to provide snacks, activities, and food for the children who must travel to prison to visit a parent. Your student has brought home a flyer outlining the items we are asked to contribute. Please help us ease the pain of separation for these children.
We are assembling our Registration Packets for next year. They should be ready by Holy Week. An updated Dress Code, Summer Reading Instructions, and Supplies List for your student’s grade will be included.
We are also setting up our Calendar for next year. After counting the votes of those who commented on our start date, we are starting school on August 19th. That first week will be ½ days on Monday and Tuesday, full days on Wednesday and Thursday, and No School on Friday so teachers and staff can attend the Diocesan Mass in Temecula. The plan now is to have a week off during Presidents’ Day Week, Feb. 17 through the 21st. School will resume on Monday, Feb. 24, and continue as usual. We will be moving Family Fun Days back to October (date TBA), and all other fundraisers will be announced as we determine them in accordance with the Parish Calendar and the Diocesan Calendar.
The next School Advisory Board meeting is Monday, April 15, at 6:30 in Room 8. Please join us as we discuss important school business to finish this year and begin the new one.
