Dear St. Thomas Family:
It seems odd to be writing this without the sound of children’s laughter and activity outside my office door, but right now it is very quiet on campus. Sometimes, I am the only one here, or at most there are one or two others here working to keep the place running while we wait for permission to come back and resume our regular school lives.
Meanwhile, I have been so impressed by the way everyone has managed to adapt to our new “normal” way of doing school: at a distance and online. Some of us may prefer it this way…after all, nearly every day can be pajama day if you want! But I miss all of you, and I am hearing that the teachers and staff miss you, too.
Next week our office will be open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 until 1:00, and it will be the same until Holy Thursday (March 30-April 9). On Holy Thursday we will open at 8:00 and close at 12:00. We will reopen on Monday, April 20. During the traditional Easter Break, I really want us all to rest…no school assignments, no homework! When we return we will resume as we are doing now until further notice.
If you want to purchase a yearbook, see our school Facebook page; Mrs. Belme has posted instructions on it. You may send a payment for the yearbook by mail to the school—it is $28.00. You may also pay your tuition and any other bills left owing by mail or by coming into the office during office hours.
We appreciate you honoring your financial commitments to the school as we will honor our responsibility to educate your child to the highest possible standard! I know you have seen how hard our teachers are working to keep students engaged and advancing. I have “dropped in” on several classes and I find the work delightful and often full of fun.
Please check out the Church Facebook page to see how Father Frank and his staff are serving our faith and our needs by Live Streaming Mass (English and Spanish), Stations, the Rosary, and many more of our beloved traditions.
God Bless Us All,
Dr. Dian Pizurie, Principal
